A paper cat face is one of those projects that takes almost no time but always gets a reaction — two pointed ears, a broad muzzle, and suddenly a plain square of paper is looking back at you. Because the model stays flat, it is easy to draw on, mount on a card, or tape to a window.

The twelve steps here are photographed in close detail, so even if you have only folded a crane or two you will be fine. There is no tricky base to learn and nothing to glue: every part of the face comes from ordinary folds. The most satisfying moment is the last one, when you add eyes and whiskers with a pen and your cat suddenly has a personality. Use two-color paper if you have it — a different shade on the ears makes a world of difference!
