There’s no easier win at Christmas than a tiny paper Santa, and this version is delightfully simple — ten folds, no tricky moves, and a face you draw on yourself at the end.

It’s the kind of fold I love to make with kids: quick enough to hold a short attention span, and customizable in any color you like (red is classic, but a green or blue Santa is just as fun). Grab a square of paper, find a red marker for the face, and let’s fold a little Santa to brighten the season.

Here’s a super-simple way to fold a Santa Claus from origami — easy enough that even a kindergartner can manage it.

I teach children’s gymnastics classes, and origami always gets such a happy reaction from the kids; it’s well worth making together. Last time I shared a Christmas tree, so this time it’s Santa’s turn!

Easy Way to Fold Santa Claus Origami ♪

Red origami is the classic choice, and it’s so popular it’s always low in stock (laughs) — but any color works. I also referred to a video while folding; it’s made quite slowly, so you may find the photos alone are faster to follow. Let’s get into it!

STEP 1.

Prepare a sheet of origami paper. (Red is traditional for Santa.)

STEP 2.

Fold it into a triangle to make a crease, then unfold.

STEP 3.

Open it and fold the left and right sides along the center line.

STEP 4.

Fold the top and bottom corners together.

STEP 5.

Turn the model over.

STEP 6.

Fold the top point down to the bottom line.

STEP 7.

Turn it over again.

STEP 8.

Fold the left and right protrusions along the middle triangle.

STEP 9.

Fold the pointed part to form Santa’s hat.

STEP 10.

Draw a face on it, and your Santa is done!

## Thank You for Your Hard Work ♪

With a fold this simple, you can easily make it alongside a small child and have fun together.

You can tape it to the wall or stand it on a shelf to display. And don’t stop at red — try Christmas green, or a light-blue “fairy Santa,” and make a whole festive set.

Hmm? The face came out a little off? That’s usual for me, so I promise not to mention it (laughs).
