There is something charming about turning a plain square of paper into a classic flying saucer: the shape reads instantly, and because the whole thing comes from a single sheet with no cutting, it feels a little like magic the first time the saucer takes form in your hands.

Children love the space theme, so this is a great model to fold together before an afternoon of play - make a few saucers in different colors, add a folded rocket or some paper stars, and you have a tiny outer-space scene.
