Easy Origami Envelope

There is something quietly delightful about a letter that becomes its own envelope - you write the message, fold the paper, and the packaging arrives for free. This easy origami envelope does exactly that with a single sheet of A4, no glue and no scissors, so it is perfect for a last-minute note, a love letter, or a gift card that needs a bit more personality than a shop-bought sleeve.

Take your time with the center crease in the early steps; everything else lines up against it, and a sharp crease here makes the finished envelope sit flat and tidy. Once you have the hang of it, you can decorate the blank side of the envelope however you like - the readers at the end of this guide have added hearts, wings and plenty of colour.

This is a great one - the easy origami envelope. You write your message or letter, then fold it into an envelope, all with just a single sheet of paper!

STEP 1.

Start with an A4 sheet of paper (8 x 11.5 inches). Most rectangles will work too. Write your message or letter here first.

STEP 2.

Fold the paper in half as shown, crease it and unfold.

STEP 3.

Fold the top right corner down to meet the center crease.

STEP 4.

Fold the bottom left corner up to meet the center crease.

STEP 5.

Fold the right side over to meet the left vertical edge.

STEP 6.

Fold the left side over to meet the right vertical edge.

STEP 7.

Rotate the paper 90 degrees clockwise.

STEP 8.

Fold the right side down to meet the bottom edge.

STEP 9.

Open the bottom flap and tuck the right side in.

STEP 10.

Fold the left side over to the top edge.

STEP 11.

Tuck it under the top flap.

And that is your easy origami envelope!
