Dinosaur
Every kid goes through a dinosaur phase, and this little origami dino is the perfect paper to fold for it. There are no fiddly written diagrams to decode - just twenty-two clear photos, one for each step, so you simply watch the shape appear as you fold.
It is a genuinely relaxing make. You start with a flat square and, crease by crease, a stubby-legged dinosaur with a proper little head stands up in your hand. Use paper that is a different colour on the two sides and you get a fun two-tone creature for free. Fold a whole herd in greens and greys, or hand a few squares to the kids and let them add eyes and scales afterwards. Quick to fold, satisfying to finish, and it actually stands up on its own.
