Big ears, a curling trunk, and a pair of tusks — somehow a single square of paper turns into an elephant in under ten steps. This is one of those folds that looks impressive but is genuinely easy.

It’s a great pick for a quiet afternoon with kids, and the only finishing touch it needs is a couple of dots for the eyes. Let’s fold one.

STEP 1. Fold the paper in half and make a crease.

STEP 2. Fold the left and right edges in to the fold line.

STEP 3. Fold the bottom corner up and tuck it inside.

STEP 4. Turn the model over.

STEP 5. Fold it in half and make a crease.

STEP 6. Fold both sides in to the crease.

STEP 7. Turn the model over.

STEP 8. While opening it, fold it down as shown in the picture.

STEP 9. Fold the bottom corner back.

Completed! Once you draw on the eyes, your elephant is finished.
